The self-proclaimed "queen of gossip" reported the alleged attack happened after the 'MuchMusic Video Awards' in Canada at the weekend.
Perez took to his Twitter straight after the show and wrote: "I was assaulted by Will.I.Am of the Black Eyed Peas and his security guards. I am bleeding. Please, I need to file a police report. No joke."
But the BEP artist defended himself against the claims, taking to his own blog a couple of hours later to write: "I hit you Perez? Come on dude! I didn't hit you... Instead of calling police you Twitted that I assaulted you. Sounds like somebody wants mad attention. They are lies. Shame on you."
Perez then retaliated with an online video clip which showed him with a bruised eye.
In the clip, the gossip hound claims he had constant run-ins with Will throughout the evening before Will's manager Polo Molina lamped him at the end of the night.
In an emotional address, Perez cried: "Nothing like this has ever happened before. It is unacceptable. It was not a random fan that hit me. You're a f****** liar. You're shameful, you're disgusting, you're a coward."
The blogger then burst into sobs and the video ended.
Perez is used to writing about the story, now he is the story - and with police investigating as we speak you can expect this one to run and run...
New update: Will.I.Am's manager Polo Molina has handed himself into police and been charged with punching Perez. He will face charges in court on August 5.
