The pack of fuzzy haired head banging rockers that is Aussie band Wolfmother did what they do best on day three of 'Splendour in the Grass 2012' – rock out.
Front man Andrew Stockdale could have been mistaken for LMFAO star Redfoo's brother from another mother. Sporting a massive sun bleached 'fro and mustache, he alternatively could be RedFoo and Tom Selleck's love child.
Playing songs from their debut self titled album and their second album 'Cosmic Egg', the set kicked off with 'White Feather' followed by 'Love Train'. Stockdale then swapped guitars before launching into 'New Moon Rising'.
Checking the audience were with him, Stockdale shouted:
"Can I hear the girls out there?
"And the boys?
"Everybody!"
With the crowd singing along they played 'Woman', as the androgynous, enthusiastic percussionist/interpretive dancer frolicked around the stage.
Stockdale changed again to a double neck guitar conducting the crowd’s cheers while the percussionist smoked as they played heavily instrumental versions of 'White Unicorn', 'Dimension', and a cover of Pink Floyd's 'The Wall'.
After another guitar change - which Stockdale introduced as a local pickup from Byron Bay - he went on to address the crowd:
"Welcome everyone to the Wolfmother set. Thank you for joining us, this is our new song."
The new harmonica-heavy track 'Keep Moving' provided a fresh twist on an otherwise familiar set, where at times the extended acoustic rock versions of their classics felt a tad lengthy.
Finally the crashing sounds of 'Joker & The Thief' filled the tent to the crowd’s rapturous approval. At the end of the song, in true rock star fashion, Stockdale held his guitar high above his head before throwing his mic side of stage and walking off into the darkness.
