Green Day front man Billie Joe Armstrong is "seeking treatment for substance abuse” following an onstage meltdown at the ‘iHeartRadio Festival’ in Las Vegas over the weekend.
Believing the band’s set had been cut short, Armstrong interrupted the band’s performance of ‘Basket Case’ and embarked on an expletive-filled rant.
"F**k this sh*t. Gimme a f**king break. One minute left. One minute f**king left. You're going to give me one minute." the singer told the crowd.
"I'm not f**king Justin Bieber, you motherf**kers. You've got to be f**ing joking, this is a f**king joke,” Armstrong continued, before he and bassist Mike Dirnt smashed their instruments and stormed off stage.

A statement about the incident has since been posted on the band’s official website, which announces that Billie is “seeking treatment for substance abuse” and that the band will be postponing some upcoming scheduled appearances.
“Billie Joe is seeking treatment for substance abuse” reads the statement.
“We would like everyone to know that our set was not cut short by Clear Channel and to apologize to those we offended at the iHeartRadio Festival in Las Vegas. We regretfully must postpone some of our upcoming promotional appearances.”
Green Day is set to release the first of their trilogy of albums, ‘Uno!,’ this week.
According to the Associated Press, Armstrong was hospitalized in early September in Bologna, Italy, for an undisclosed illness, but the star was well enough to perform at the ‘2012 MTV Video Music Awards’ held in Los Angeles on September 6. You can watch that performance in the clip below.
