Hills stars Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt have officially mastered the fine art of shameless self promotion in Hollywood. And if there was any morsel of doubt about that, all you need to do is take note of the media circus around the most public celeb wedding, well ever!

Last weekend, the couple had the media circus jumping like rabid monkeys on Red Bull when they married for a third time “officially” at the Westminster Presbyterian Church in Pasadena, California with the ceremony taped for a special episode of The Hills.’

Many celebrities go to extreme lengths to keep their special day private, but bless their fame-seeking hearts, Spencer and Heidi soaked up the spotlight and milked the event for all it was worth, and if you believe reports, were out to make a sweet buck via exclusive magazine coverage.

According to PerezHilton.com, OK! Magazine and US Weekly both reportedly offered Montag and Pratt $400 000 for an exclusive cover story deal for pics, but Speidi turned them both down. No hell hasn’t frozen over, the clever blondies figured out they could earn even more cash by letting every publication buy pics!

Says a source, "And, of course, he's going to hire his favorite paparazzi agency to take the pics exclusively of the wedding, so Speidi will get a cut of the profits from all the sales. They should be making a lot of money from the wedding photos!"

And being the resourceful pair they are, Speidi are leveraging even more cash out of the salivating tabs by doing what Speidi do best - creating some DRAMAZ!

Although frenemy and Pratt-hater Lauren Conrad was adamant she would not be attending the ceremony, according to sources, the Hills star was indeed present in what was meant to be a ‘surprise’ appearance. But only because Spencer faked an apology to get her to turn up to the wedding – and she fell for it!

Laguna Beach alum Kristin Cavallari also was a guest at the nuptials and there are whispers that she is going to be joining the cast of The Hills for at least six episodes next season, possibly more.

In typical Speidi form, the bride and groom were Twittering relentlessly in the hours leading up to their walk down the aisle. Followers of Heidi were treated to regular updates of the bride- to- be as she marveled her dress “wow my dress is amazing! like a swan princess” and faced the dilemma of how to wear to her hair, “half up or all up”? Spencer shared his pre- wedding preparation via a twitter pic of himself getting his uni-brow tweezed! (No joke). Erm, thanks Spence!

The Golden couple may have reached new heights of cringe-worthyness, but judging from the 400,000 odd twitter followers, there are plenty of us who value this epitome of the tacky, tragic and fabulous form of self deprecation. Truly entertaining and totally addictive.

So will Heidi and Spencer’s fairytale wedding see them live happily ever after? Or will the trials and tribulations of Tinsletown burn out their over-exposed union? Guess we'll just have to watch the new season to find out...
