Forbes Magazine listed J-Lo at the top of the 2012 poll based on a combination of her earnings, press coverage and internet presence.
“With $US52 million in earnings over the last 12 months and a massive amount of fame, Lopez lands at number one on our Celebrity 100 list for the first time,” Forbes said.
The 42 year-old singer, actress and dancer joined ‘American Idol’ last May and has opened a new clothing line at Kohl’s since the 2011 list, where she was in 50th place.
Second on the list is Oprah Winfrey, followed by pop star Justin Bieber, who has remained in the third spot since last year.
Singer Rihanna debuted on the list in 4th place, earning $53million, thanks to a string of hits and big endorsement deals over the last year. And wacky pop princess Lady Gaga slid into 5th place for her earning of $52million.
