"You had me, You lost me" we seem to vaguely recall well, if you believe recent reports,it seems that Joss may indeed have had 'it' and now totally lost 'it'. In previous years, the barefooted diva was performing at such high profile gigs as Glastonbury Festival and Live 8 alongside the likes of Paul McCartney, Madonna, Snoop Dogg, U2 and Pink Floyd. In fact, only two years ago a TV audience of millions watched the gravel-voiced singer perform at the prestigious Grammy Awards. But you may have noticed naught a peep out of Joss in the year just gone, and whispers are that the 'Super Duper Love' hit maker is suffering a career drought. And what, you may ask, is getting the tall poppies tattling? Well, last night saw her performing at her local town hall in Dover to an audience of just 500. 'Joss loves performing but she hasn't done much commercially in the past year and her popularity has dropped,' a source reveals. 'I think she lost the public's affection when she returned from Los Angeles with a transatlantic drawl and she has also just split from her boyfriend, so this is a low point for her' The source went onto say, 'The venue in Dover is not grand - it also hosts things such as birthday parties and conferences - but Joss still loves getting out there and showing what she can do.' While some are ready to compare the performance to Jessica Simpson's latest bottom of the barrel gig at the 'Florida Chilli Cook Off' it seems unlikely that Joss is persevering with a career performing at Bat Mitzvahs, birthday parties or corporate team building days. Stone's reasoning behind these 'intimate' gigs she's doing across the UK lately is that she's trying out her new tunes on audiences before the release of her fourth album, 'Colour Me Free', drops next month seems a pretty plausible reason to us! Silence the doubters and drop your thang girl! We wait with bated breath.
