Pop megastar Justin Bieber seems to have it all – a successful career, a legion of adoring fans and stunning girlfriend Selena Gomez on his arm – but the singer insists he’s worked hard for all his blessings.

“I never stop working,” Justin revealed in a new interview with the Daily Mail this week.

“In what I wanted to do in music I’ve never had any fear. But now I’m at the top there’s nowhere to go but down; for me it’s about staying standing at the top.

“I’m not a kid any more – I’m an adult, I’m making the decisions and I want to keep on growing, and I believe I can,” he continued.

The star has shown off an edgier, older sound on his latest record ‘Believe,’ the first step in transforming his teen heartthrob status into a long lasting music career.

“I look at Justin Timberlake and Usher and see how they crossed over really successfully, and I’ve seen people go off at the deep end, get full of themselves, think they’re the best and end up not being anything,” Bieber said.

“I’ve worked way too hard for that.”

But with other young acts such as One Direction, The Wanted and Bieber’s own tour mates Cody Simpson and Carly Rae Jepsen burning up the charts, is the 18-year-old worried about retaining his place as the reigning prince of pop?

“It’s actually cool to have other young people on the scene. I’ve spent years being the only one at all these awards shows – now there are other people my age,” Justin dished.

“I hang out with One Direction, and the guys from The Wanted are fun, really funny guys.”

Looks like there's no sign of a feud there then!
