Kimbra and Six60 have walked away the big winners at this year’s Vodafone New Zealand Music Awards, which took place at Auckland’s Vector Arena last night!
Hamilton-born Kimbra took home an impressive five Tuis, including the coveted ‘Album of the Year’ gong for her debut ‘Vows.’
“Album of the Year is pretty special to me, just because I really did work so hard on that record,” Kimbra told stuff.co.nz after her win.
The ‘Settle Down’ singer also won ‘Best Female Solo Artist,’ ‘Breakthrough Artist of the Year,’ ‘Best Pop Album’ and an International Achievement award.

Auckland-based band Six60 walked away with a whopping six Tuis including ‘Single of the Year’ for ‘Don’t Forget Your Roots’ and ‘Best Group.’
The boys also showcased their massive popularity by taking out the ‘People’s Choice’ award, as well as winning ‘Highest Selling NZ Single,’ ‘Highest Selling NZ Album’ and a NZ On Air Radio Airplay award.
“It’s really humbling that people are voting and people are behind us. I mean we knew we had a strong fanbase because we love our fans and we’re very interactive with them on Facebook and Twitter, but this is just such a great treat for us,” said band member Chris Mac.
