Grunge lovers the world over are traumatized after hearing the news that the ashes of Nirvana legend Kurt Cobain were flogged from Courtney Love's Los Angeles home. Love had kept Cobain's ashes in a pink bag shaped like a teddy bear, along with a lock of his hair. The eccentric widow is said to be 'suicidal' after discovering the remains missing from her Hollywood home; a location which up until now has been kept secret. Rumours and speculation are rife as to who stole the remains. One explanation bandied about is 'accidental thievery' (would you expect the ashes of a rock god to be stored in a pink teddy-bear shaped bag?) Also missing were thousands of pounds worth of clothes and jewellery. Some of the Nirvana front man's ashes were scattered near his home in Washington State and some at a New York Buddhist temple, with his widow retaining the rest. "They were all I had left of my husband. I used to take them everywhere with me just so I could feel Kurt was still with me. Now it feels like I have lost him all over again," says the eccentric widow. She says, "I can't believe anyone would take Kurt's ashes from me. I find it disgusting [and] right now I'm suicidal." Unfortunately, this is will probably guarantee Courtney will never see those ashes again. Still, nicking the remains of the deceased has to be up there with the most deplorable acts of all time and we wouldn't be surprised if they end up on eBay next week.
