Okay, so we know she blitzed the UK’s 'X Factor' talent show in 2006, appeared on Oprah and went on to sell about a gerzillion records all over the world, but it sounds as if timid tunestress Leona Lewis has finally gotten too big for her Christian Louboutins.

We say this because news reaches us from the UK that lovely Le’ has turned down an invitation to dinner at the White House. And when we say the White House we don’t mean that place down the road with the fresh paint job. No, we mean home to the bloody Obamas. That’s right the most famous family on the planet.

Apparently Michelle Obama – yes that’s wife of Barack Obama, possibly the most famous person on the planet, besides the chk-chk-boom girl – is a huge fan of the London lung-buster and has had her album ’Spirit’ on repeat ever since she bought it. So, being a thoughtful hubby when he heard Leona was in town, Obama asked her over for chicken nuggets and chips with the brood.

Imagine being given the chance to meet Barack, Michelle, Sasha, Malia – and best of all Bo, the Portuguese water puppy. Leona must have bitten Obama’s hand off at the request, right?

Wrong.

The 'Bleeding Love' warbler turned the invitation down!

A well-placed source told the UK’s Daily Mirror: "Leona was thrilled to be invited to dinner by Obama. She really wanted to meet him and his wife Michelle - who is a big fan and has her ‘Spirit’ album.

"They both think she is a strong, inspirational and talented young woman who is a fantastic role model for children.

"They would love her to get involved in some of their charity projects. But it was really unfortunate that it clashed with her tight schedule to get her second album done.

"Leona has had studio sessions in LA booked for months and has been working day and night getting things perfect. So there was no way she could make the trip to the White House as it would have put back recording by a week and she's desperate to get it all finished.”

Hmm, wouldn’t bet your life on getting a Christmas card from the Obamas this year, lady.
