The lovely ladies of Little Mix have taken Australia by storm this week, doing a stack of interviews, a jam-packed meet and greet with fans, and tonight, performing on ‘X Factor Australia’!
The girls - Perrie Edwards, Jesy Nelson, Leigh-Anne Pinnock and Jade Thirlwall - were the winners of ‘X Factor UK’ in 2011, and have since gone on to score a number one single in their home country with their track ‘Wings.’
We caught up with the fantastic foursome in Sydney earlier today to find out what to expect from tonight and to see whether they had any words of advice for the Aussie contestants!
“Tonight you’ve just got to expect loads of fun, energy, excitement, and hopefully just a really fun, enjoyable performance!” said 21-year-old Jesy.
The girls will be hitting the stage to perform ‘Wings,’ which fellow band mate Jade describes as “an up tempo, uplifting song about believing in yourself and not listening to any negativity that’s said about you.”
“We hope people smile and dance when they listen to it.”
And having been through the ups and downs of the show themselves just one year ago, the girls are well placed to give the contestants on ‘X Factor Australia’ a bit of friendly advice!
“Be confident, be yourself,” said 19-year-old Perrie.
“Take everything in, every bit of experience you have, everyone you work with, take little elements from them.”
“Work hard, don’t just expect it all to happen for you,” continued Jade, “and be nice to everyone, because it goes a long way!”
“Be constantly bettering yourself as well. Like watch back your performances and think, ‘what can I do better?’” advised Leigh-Anne.
Little Mix’s single ‘Wings’ is out now, and their debut album ‘DNA’ hits stores November 23!
