The ‘Tennis Court’ singer, who’s real name is Ella Yelich-O’Connor, was a last minute addition to the bill yesterday, after it was announced that headline act Ocean was canceling the remainder of his Aussie shows after suffering a small tear to one of his vocal chords.
Lorde has undoubtedly been handed the biggest break in her career thus far by being added to the Splendour bill and will be taking the stage at 5.30pm for the final day of the epic festival.
“Something absurd and cool just came up which involves me getting on a plane in about 24 hours,” tweeted the NZ teen late Friday.
“See you at splendour b**ches.”
Lorde released her second EP, ‘Tennis Court,’ in June and is sure to stun both her enamoured fans and the uninitiated alike with her incredible tracks ‘Royals,’ ‘Love Club’ and ‘Bravado.’
Splendour organisers have announced that Of Monsters and Men will now be performing in the headline slot instead of Frank Ocean.
