With this year’s VMAs just around the corner, we’ve taken a look at the star-studded list of nominees and performers and made our own predictions of some meme-worthy moments that could very well go down when the world’s greatest entertainers hit Brooklyn on Monday.
Prediction #1: Harry Styles throws one back at Taylor Swift
We all know that Harry Styles and Taylor Swift’s January breakup wasn’t exactly a smooth ride, so we’re expecting that the pair will be seated far away from each other at this year’s VMAs. Taylor famously mocked Hazza during her ‘Grammy Awards’ performance of ‘We Are Never Getting Back Together’ in February, so when the British heartthrob takes the stage for One Direction’s special appearance – could we be in for a retort of some sort?
Prediction #2: Lady Gaga’s Little Monsters take aim at Perez Hilton
Lady Gaga and Perez Hilton’s heated Twitter feud has been all up in our newsfeed this week, so will Gaga’s loyal Little Monsters take the opportunity to come to the defence of their idol and show Perez what they’re made of? We think Mr Hilton better wear some protective headgear if he’s planning to walk the red carpet!
Prediction #3: Miley Cyrus suffers wardrobe malfunction
Now we don’t want to pick on Miley here, but we feel that her sexy new persona could be leaving her wide open for a wardrobe slip-up if she doesn’t apply her Hollywood Tape correctly. We’re expecting something saucy from Miss Cyrus for her performance on the VMA stage – and by saucy, we mean barely there. So we just want to make sure that everything’s in its rightful place when the ‘We Can’t Stop’ singer breaks out that famous twerk. Are you reading this Miles?
Prediction #4: Macklemore & Ryan Lewis win Video of the Year – Kanye disapproves, storms stage
Yeah, yeah we hear ya – been there, done that. But what if Kanye uses this as an opportunity to make amends with T-Swizzle? I mean, we’re pretty sure Yeezy wouldn’t support a song that condoned poppin’ tags, right? And being a new dad, the ‘BLKKK SKKKN HEAD’ singer could be looking to set a good example for baby North West… Hey, stranger things have happened.
Prediction #5: Jay Z joins Justin Timberlake on stage
Jay Z and JT seem to be joined at the hip these days, so we’re thinking a surprise appearance by Hov during Justin’s performance wouldn’t be too far-fetched. The duo is up for Best Collaboration for their hit ‘Suit & Tie,’ so it would make sense to celebrate their joint nod with a bit of a toe-tap up there on the VMA stage, dontyathink?
