As the reigning king of K-Pop, Psy’s hit track ‘Gangnam Style’ has received over one billion views on YouTube, becoming the first video to do so in the site’s history!
And fans of the galloping pop star will be pleased to learn that a follow-up to ‘Gangnam Style’ is well underway.
“I don't think I'll be doing any collaborations until my new track is done, and it's not done yet, but I'm thinking of doing it by myself, so I can prove I can do it one more time,” Psy told MTV News recently.
“And I'm working hard on it, because I've got to be good with the track and the video, and I've got to be able to perform it on the stage.”
And while the star won’t disclose any details of his next single, he has revealed he’s looking to some of his fellow hit-makers for inspiration.
"I really like [Rihanna's] ‘We Found Love,’ and these days I've been listening to ‘Scream & Shout’ by will.i.am and Britney Spears," he dished.
"And, of course, all year, I have liked what Usher has done, too."
And as for ‘Gangnam Style,’ Psy revealed to MTV News that his performance of the track at ‘Dick Clark’s New Years Rockin’ Eve’ could in fact mean the end of the catchy tune.
“Being in Times Square on New Year's Eve is already special — it's the biggest stage in the universe — plus it's my birthday, so, with all that, it may be the ending of 'Gangnam Style.'” Psy told MTV News prior to the performance.
