Good news for Rihanna fans – the pop princess has confirmed that she will be dropping her brand new single ‘Diamonds’ this week!
The singer described the new track as “happy and hippy,” and revealed that it will debut on radio in the States on Wednesday morning.
"It's laid-back but it's hopeful," she told iHeartRadio at their annual music festival in Las Vegas over the weekend.
"It gives me such a great feeling when I listen to it. The lyrics are very hopeful and positive, but it's about love and...a little different to what people would expect, I think.”
2012 has been a year full of success for the star, with hits such as ‘We Found Love,’ ‘Talk That Talk,’ ‘You Da One’ and ‘Where Have You Been’ storming the charts worldwide.
The Bajan beauty went on to say that she "loves great music," and always tries to replicate that in her own work.
"When I make an album, that's what I think about; what I want to hear, what I love to hear," she explained.
"I think that's what my fans love, they just love great music. I always want to make it interesting for them. I always want to make it a little fresh and a little ahead of what's on the radio.
"That's the challenge for me," she continued, "but I enjoy that."
Rihanna’s as-yet-untitled seventh studio album is expected to hit shelves later this year.
