Prolific pop star Rihanna has just released her brand new single ‘Diamonds’!
RiRi premiered the track - the first single from her as-yet-untitled upcoming seventh studio album - overnight, telling Las Vegas radio host Elvis Duran,
“It gives me such a great feeling when I listen to it."
The song was produced by Stargate and Benny Blanco, and was penned by none other than Aussie songstress Sia Furler!
The track opens with Rihanna singing, "Find light in the beautiful sea / I chose to be happy / You and I, you and I / We're like diamonds in the sky."
On the chorus, she continues, "So shine bright tonight, you and I / We're beautiful like diamonds in the sky / Eye to eye, so alive / We're beautiful like diamonds in the sky."
RiRi has worked with Stargate on a number of her previous hits including ‘Don't Stop the Music,’ ‘Rude Boy’ and ‘Only Girl (In the World),’ but this is the first time the 24-year-old has joined forces with Sia.
The Australian singer/songwriter has written tracks for Christina Aguilera and Madonna in the past, and also lent her vocals to two massive hits this year, ‘Wild Ones’ with US rapper Flo Rida and ‘Titanium’ by David Guetta.
Last year Sia, who has taken a step back from performing her own songs to concentrate on writing for other artists, told MTV Australia how much she enjoys the role of songwriter and that she feels it’s a “better job” for her.
“It’s almost a better job for me, because it’s less stress and pressure,” said the media-shy star.
