The videos have been viewed, the nominees have been announced and voting is now open for the ‘2012 MTV Video Music Awards!’

And while we reckon it will be a close one for the five nominees Katy Perry, Rihanna, M.I.A., Gotye and Drake, it seems ‘Twilight’ hunk Robert Pattinson has already picked his favourites!

“I love Romain Gavras, who did the M.I.A. video [for 'Bad Girls'], but yeah, I haven't seen Katy's video [Wide Awake]. That's terrible," he revealed to MTV News during an exclusive ‘MTV First’ interview last week.

"I also ... like Rihanna's ['We Found Love'] video as well. I like whoever directed that; it's cool. It's got, like, good colors. It's pretty," he added.

Pop princess Rihanna goes into the 2012 VMAs as the most-nominated woman, with five nods in total. As well as ‘Video of the Year,’ she's also up for ‘Best Female Video,’ ‘Best Pop Video,’ ‘Best Choreography’ and ‘Best Visual Effects.’ Drake has five nominations of his own, while Katy’s not far behind with four nods. M.I.A. has three nominations, and Australia’s own Gotye has two.

Don’t miss the ‘2012 MTV Video Music Awards’ broadcast live from LA’s Staples Center Friday September 7 @ 9am (11am NZ) on MTV Australia!
