After months of speculation, Shakira has finally officially confirmed that she is expecting her first child with her boyfriend FC Barcelona soccer player Gerard Pique !
"As some of you may know, Gerard and I are very happy awaiting the arrival of our first baby!" the 35-year-old star posted on her official website.
The chart-topper also revealed that the pregnancy is the reason she is pulling out of performing at the ‘iHeartRadio Music Festival’ in Los Angeles this weekend.
"At this time we have decided to give priority to this unique moment in our lives and postpone all the promotional activities planned over the next few days," she continued.
Shakira has been dating Gerard – who is ten years her junior - since 2010, when he featured in the music video for her hit song ‘Waka Waka (This Time for Africa),’ the South Africa Soccer World Cup theme song.
The news follows the announcement this week that the ‘Hips Don’t Lie’ singer and RnB sensation Usher will be replacing Christina Aguilera and Cee Lo Green on the next season of the US version of ‘The Voice.’
