Being the biggest act in the country can be exhausting; just ask Empire of the Sun's, Luke Steele. The vocalist revealed he recently lost 10 kilograms and had to cancel a number of shows as the group's promotional schedule spiralled out of control:

"I arrived back in Australia and couldn't find the energy to do anything. I couldn't move and I hardly ate," he told the UK's Sun newspaper. "The doctor said I was exhausted physically and mentally. I'm now on a high-protein diet and taking shakes to build up my strength. I also go on two-kilometre walks every morning with my wife, my daughter and my dog."

Steele's health fell apart as he (and collaborator Nick Littlemore) undertook an exhausting promotional tour of the UK and US. Empire of the Sun was originally supposed to be a side-project for the two and a chance to get away from their other commitments (Sleepy Jackson and Pnau, respectively). The debut album's (Walking on a Dream) unprecedented success (three chart-topping singles and counting) saw that plan go out the window and they've just been announced as the headlining act for Parklife 2009.

Meanwhile, Steele has shed some light on the fate of Sleepy Jackson. Apparently his former band mates aren't earning their keep. "I suddenly realised I was paying the guys in The Sleepy Jackson every month and they weren't really doing anything. I decided to move away from that for now."
