The girls, Victoria Beckahm, Emma Bunton, Mel B, Mel C and Geri Halliwell, aka Posh, Baby, Scary, Sporty and Ginger Spice, gave their fans what they “really, really want” when they reunited to unveil the details of their new musical titled ‘Viva Forever’ in London.
"We're going to be introducing a whole new generation to Girl Power," Victoria revealed at their media launch yesterday.
"It's better than we could ever have imagined," Mel C added.
"It's something we've spoken about a lot over the years. I think that our music lends itself really well to theatre and when we reunited in 2007 that was when we started to talk about it more seriously."
But the new musical, which hits the UK on December 11, isn’t exactly a true tale about the ‘Stop’ singers...
"It's not about actually us, it's the essence of the Spice Girls," Geri admitted.
The script centres around four characters who audition for a TV talent show and will feature some of Spice Girls’ smash hits such as ‘Wannabe’ and ‘Spice Up Your Life.’
Meanwhile, Australia's ‘X-Factor’ judge Mel B says that they have been blown away by the vocal talents of the cast.
"They sing it better than us,” the mother-of-three joked to the Associated Press.
The new musical was written by British comedian Jennifer Saunders and produced by Mamma Mia mastermind Judy Craymer.
