Multi-talented Melbourne pranksters The Janoskians have just released their debut single ‘Set This World On Fire’ – and this week, MTV Australia caught up with the boys to talk about crossing over into the music world and what the track is all about!

“Music is a big part of all of us,” said Beau.

“When we started off we didn’t see ourselves turning into a boy band musically. We just saw ourselves doing videos being pranksters, and when the opportunity arose we took it with both hands,” continued James.

“Who wouldn’t take that opportunity!” Daniel chimed in.

The single dropped last month and raced up the Aussie iTunes chart within hours of its release. So what’s the track about, and does it stay true to The Janoskians’ spirit?

“'Set This World On Fire’ is all about us being edgy and taking a girl out and showing her a new sort of light that she hasn’t seen before,” Beau revealed.

“Our single is like a mirror reflection of us; it’s cheeky, it’s edgy,” said James.

“Not only that, it’s a really catchy and fun song as well!” finished Beau.

But the boys insist that just because they’re now making music, that doesn’t mean they’ve forgotten their prankster roots.

“I think it’s important that now that we have a singing career, we still do our pranks as well, ‘cause we need to stay true to who we are, remember where we came from and what we started doing,” said Luke.

“Our pranks are a part of us and we love doing pranks more than anything.”

“We’ve got something huge just around the corner for our fans out there...” teased James.
