2012 has been a massive year for ‘Jersey Shore’ star Mike ‘The Situation’ Sorrentino.
After a rocky fifth season on the hit show, which saw his relationships with his fellow housemates reach breaking point, back in March Mike entered a treatment facility to deal with a prescription medication addiction.
Eight months later, the star has opened up to MTV News about his time on the upcoming sixth and final season of ‘Jersey Shore’ and the effort he put into making amends with the rest of the cast.
"This particular season, season six, it definitely comes full circle," he told MTV News.
“I definitely was a little anxious," he says of reuniting with his cast mates.
"I mean, I didn't know how everybody was going to react to me, but I was hoping for the best."
This week, co-stars Ronnie and Pauly D told talk show host Ellen DeGeneres about the change they saw in Mike’s demeanor during season 6, with Ronnie even labeling him “great to be around.”

“I always said that when Mike came into the house, Mike came in as ‘The Situation.’ I never liked ‘The Situation,’” revealed Ronnie.
“Mike came in this year as Mike Sorrentino and he was great to be around. He was fun, he was active, it was great to have him in the house.”
“Mike was my best friend when we first met,” continued Pauly D, “and throughout the years we started growing a little bit distant and apart.”
“So I was happy to see that he went to rehab, and when he came back I had my best friend back.”
And 30-year-old Mike clearly appreciates the love and support of his ‘Jersey Shore’ family.
“It’s been a really special year for me, because something that was just so hard to deal with in my life, my buddies, my brothers, helped me to get through it.”
