Elon Musk Becomes Richest Man In The World, Seems Nonplussed
Well, well, well. South African Entrepreneur Elon Musk has overtaken Jeff Bezos to become the richest man in the world, according to a report from Bloomberg. Yep, as it stands the engineer and prospective Mars coloniser is reportedly worth about $188.5 billion USD, surpassing Amazon's Jeff Bezos by more than $1.5 billion USD.
Elon Musk tweeted an aloof response to the news this morning, tweeting "how strange". Followed by "well, back to work". Ha! What a cool guy.
Musk has previously said he's not into material possessions and is just really, really serious about colonising Mars. Last May, he declared he would sell all his stuff and will also "own no house".
Apparently, this is all to show how devoted he is to Mars. Exactly, Elon! That's also why I don't own a house, but when I say it I'm told I'm "not making sense". Sigh.
It's unclear if Musk followed through on his plan to rid himself of all material burdens, but thankfully, he still has access to his Twitter account. God bless.
