Australia's music media, throngs of the 'it' crowd and MTV partners, friends and staff packed out the gallery and seemed to greatly appreciate the champagne, Jagermeister and tunes that flowed freely. MTV VJs Maz Compton and Darren McMullen, along with Fall Out Boy super star Pete Wentz entertained the crowd with their comedic stylings; the trio were also on hand to read out the nominations and the announce that, wait for it, The Killers will be performing live!
If you're a 'Hills' fan, you'd best sit down for this news; Audrina Patridge will be hosting the Red Carpet! OMG!
On the nominations front Beyonce, Kings of Leon and Lady GaGa lead the charge, while on the local field, the ladies make their presence felt with Jessica Mauboy, Gabriella Cilmi, Sia and The Veronicas featuring strongly. Across the ditch, beat spinner P Money, Lady Hawke, and chart favourites Nesian Mystic are among the nominees to represent.
Yep, it's MTV Australia's very own celebration of what is good and fine about the charts, but it wouldn't be a real party without you, our fine cohorts in music love!
