If you think Kelly Clarkson’s ’I Do Not Hook Up’ has a similiar vibe to the ass-kicking anthems of one Katy Perry, then ponder no more.

The ‘I Kissed A Girl’ chanteuse wrote the tune for Kel who has been telling MTV all about it.

Kelly explained: “I picked the song (for my album, ‘All I Ever Wanted’) before Katy even blew up. I met her about two and half years ago randomly at one of my gigs. She was introduced to me as a singer songwriter and she was a very, very cool girl.”

Kel continued: “I went to a publishing meeting about a year and a half ago – and even though I’d written a bunch of songs for the album myself, I also wanted to have a look at what else was out there and I was like, ‘You know what, I don’t just want the best songwriters. I want the best songs, even if the writers haven’t published anything before.’ I was introduced to Katy Perry and I loved her style of writing, it’s very quirky.”

We’d love to see these two power-popstrels Hook Up on stage.
