Ne-Yo's MJ Tribute
When Michael Jackson tragically passed, it seemed every singer-slash-songwriter worth their chart-ratings pledged to make a tribute album. But one artist that has actually made good on that promise is Ne-Yo, who has announced he is planning a MJ tribute album with the late pop star’s family.
As it turns out, the Gloved One requested to use an album’s worth of Ne-Yo’s songs a couple of years ago, but died before he ever got around to recording them.
So now, instead of flogging off what is sure to be a string of hits, the 30 year old crooner will be recording the tracks with Janet and the remaining Jackson’s.
The ‘Sexy Love’ singer told the Daily Star:
“I’ve been trying to figure out what to do with those songs.
“I can’t give them to anybody else because they were written for Michael – that would be disrespectful.
“So if I could get Janet and the brothers to do a collaborative tribute that would be a great idea.”
The hit-maker, who as well as writing his own chart-topping tracks, has made short work of becoming one of Tinsel Town’s most in-demand songwriters by penning winning hits for Rihanna, Beyonce, Sugababes and Leona Lewis. But the biggest highlight of his career was when the King Of Pop requested to use his tracks…
He revealed: “ There are about 10 he personally selected. He told me: ‘I like this one, this one, this one.’
“I can’t just put them out by myself because again they were meant for him but they’re really good songs, it’s good quality music.”
If it’s good enough for MJ, it’s good enough for us! We can’t wait to hear it!
