Nicki Minaj and Lil Wayne join forces for Billboard Music Awards
The ‘Billboard Music Awards’ are cranking up the heat, adding a new batch of fresh faces to their already star-spangled stage.
Jennifer Lopez, Chris Brown, Ed Sheeran and Icona Pop are all set to perform at the event, held at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on May 19.
While the star’s individual performances are already enough to whet our appetite, it’s the team-ups that have us salivating: Nicki Minaj will be joining forces with Young Money’s Lil Wayne, with
David Guetta, Ne-Yo and
Akon also confirmed to collaborate on the night.
Other A-listers include Pitbull, Justin Bieber, Taylor Swift, Christina Aguilera, Selena Gomez and Bruno Mars,
with Kacey Musgraves, The Band Perry, Miguel and our favourite thrift-shoppers, Macklemore and Ryan Lewis also making appearances.
It won’t be the first time that Gomez and Macklemore have performed at the same awards show, last month they both hit the stage at the ‘2013 MTV Movie Awards.’
Snagging 11 nominations each, T-Swift, Maroon 5, and Fun. are the top nominees, with Rihanna (10 nods) and Carly Rae Jepsen (nine nods) trailing closely behind. One Direction is also a favourite, hoping to snatch the Top New Artist prize from the clutches of Psy, the Lumineers or Gotye.
Hilarious ‘30 Rock’ star Tracy Morgan is set to host the show, which will air in the US on May 19.
