Their split shocked diehard fans across the globe – and now two years after Oasis
officially called it a day, Noel Gallagher
has finally spilled on the real reason why.
According to the Daily Mirror, the guitarist has revealed how his longtime feud with his brother and bandmate Liam
came to a bitter climax ahead of a gig in Paris.
“He picked up a plum and threw it across the dressing room and it smashed against the wall,”
Noel told a stunned audience at a London press conference this week.
“Part of me wishes it had ended like that, you know, ‘Plum throws plum.’ But he came back with a guitar and started wielding it like an axe and I’m not f****** kidding – it’s a real unnecessary violent act.
“He’s swinging the guitar around and he kind of... he nearly took my face off with it.”
And after nearly an 18-year turbulent relationship with his sibling, that was the final straw for Noel – and ultimately for Oasis.
“I was like, ‘I’m f****** out of here’ and I walked out and got in the car and sat there for five minutes, and I said ‘F*** it, I can’t do it any more.”
