One Direction announce ‘1D Day’ global event
Directioners from every corner of the globe will have the opportunity to join One Direction in a seven-hour live broadcast on November 23, featuring special guest appearances, sketches with the band and fan-generated video content.
The event, called ‘1D Day’ is the first live event of its kind and will give fans from different countries and time-zones the chance to interact with Harry, Liam, Louis, Zayn and Niall throughout the broadcast – just two days before the release of 1D’s highly anticipated record, ‘Midnight Memories.’
“A few months ago we decided that we wanted to give back something to all the fans who supported us,” says Harry in a video announcing the event.
“We had such an amazing three years and we couldn't have done it without you guys,” Liam continued. “So we put all our heads together and came up with the idea of 1D Day.”
The ‘1D Day’ campaign launches today with competitions and fan events around the world, which will make sure Directioners are as big a part of the broadcast as the special guests and the band themselves.
One Direction are currently on their Australian leg of the ‘Take Me Home World Tour,’ which hits Melbourne tonight before taking to Sydney later this week.
