One Direction Review

MTV Catches The Boyband Live Down Under…

After months of anticipation, sleepless nights and daydreaming about our current crush One Direction - today was the day we finally got to see the most famous five-some on the planet right now, live in action!

Here for their first ever Aussie tour, Harry Styles, Zayn Malik, Liam Payne, Niall Horan and Louis Tomlinson brought their energetic pop hits, synchronised shuffles, infectious grins and cheeky hip thrusts all the way from the UK – and MTV Australia was lucky enough to bag a front row seat!

Welcomed on stage at Sydney’s Hordern Pavilion by deafening girly screams, the ‘X-Factor’ stars - supported by local singing sensation Johnny Ruffo and ‘Australia’s Got Talent’ winners Justice Crew – certainly didn’t disappoint.

“What an incredible audience you guys are!” raved Louis. “We haven’t been in Sydney that long, but we love it. This place is amazing and you are amazing!”

Living up to their crazy hype and proving they were more than worth the wait, the Brit hotties wowed the crowd of adoring tweens (and us!) with their opening tracks, including, ‘Stand Up,’ and ‘Gotta Be You.’

And showing off their surprisingly impressive vocal range, they also shook things up with a bunch of popular covers like Kings Of Leon’s ‘Use Somebody’ and Natalie Imbruglia’s ‘Torn.’

And when the group, who were stylishly decked out in their beloved blazers, skinny jeans and matching trainers, took a break from skipping non-stop across the stage, they made sure to give back to their “best fans in the world” with a special Twitter dedication!

After broadcasting their pick of Aussie fan posts across the big screen and a quick costume change, the lads then made sure every hand and camera phone was back in the air as they belted out more hits including ‘Everything About You’ and ‘What Makes You Beautiful.’

So while 1D mania continues to spread Down Under with the lads jetting off to Melbourne, Brisbane, Auckland and Wellington next, ‘One Thing’ is for sure - MTV are now diehard Directioners!
