Pharrell Williams in talks to work on One Direction’s new album ‘Midnight Memories’
The N.E.R.D frontman is currently in talks to feature on the lads’ third studio album, ‘Midnight Memories,’ and in a recent interview with the Sunday Mirror, Williams shared that the prospect of a collaboration was looking positive.
“We are definitely talking,” dished the singer-songwriter. “From what I’ve heard of their new stuff I’m pleasantly surprised. Their new stuff is definitely a progression and an elevation. I will hopefully be getting involved as we are definitely in talks.
He continued, “I don’t think some people realise how hard those boys work. There is so much more that goes into One Direction than just the band. They are a brand and are huge. They are incredibly hard-working. I’m sure it will excite our female fans if we’re on a record together.”
Just last month, Pharrell uploaded a Twitter snap of him and Liam Payne hanging out in a recording studio.
Soon-to-be baby daddy Simon Cowell apparently facilitated the match, and told the tabloid: “I spoke to Pharrell about working with us on something.
“I’ve known him for a long, long time, and he was saying to me that it’s just unbelievable what’s happening with him. He’s absolutely at the top of his game right now... Hopefully, we’ll have a Pharrell track [on 1D’s new album] if that works out well.”
