The Top 10 Eurosummer Destinations For 2016
Here at MTV Travel, we like to think we know our fair share about jetsetting to Europe for sunkissed beach days and loooooong summer nights.
But to compile our Top 10 picks for 2016’s Eurosummer we teamed up with the experts at Flight Centre to make sure we included the crème de la crème, perfect for the Topdeck tourist, the solo adventurist and even the luxury high-flyer.
10. Copenhagen, Denmark
No where is there more life, colour and summer sunshine than Copenhagen - either by the water or in Tivoli Gardens, you will be in heaven in this stunning Danish destination.
9. Split, Croatia
Something for the partiers: if you haven't got either Ultra Croatia (pictured) or plans to jump aboard a yacht and sail from port to port on your bucket list then get planning!
8. Cappadocia, Turkey
We mean, COME ON! A sojourn to Turkey is a must just to witness the famous hot air balloons at Cappadocia.
7. Rome, Italy
While Rome is generally considered a tourist-crazed hot zone, there is a reason it's so popular. No where else balances Italian history, dining and nightlife quite like the City Of Love...
6. Venice, Italy
Once you've finished in Rome, head to Venice to be inspired by the floating city as you drift down the canals to explore cobbled streets and hidden gems.
5. Amsterdam, Netherlands
There's so much more to Amsterdam than the Red Light District! Filled with delectable treats (Poffertjes!) to eat and gorgeous winding canals to explore.
4. Barcelona, Spain
Wander down La Rambla, twisting through side streets, ending up at the beach sipping cocktails during the day, before chucking on a market stall buy and heading straight to Razzmatazz for a nightlife experience you will never forget.
3. Prague, Czech Republic
'The City of a Hundred Spires' is home to some of the most stunning architecture in the world. When the city lights up at night you are seemingly transported back in time.
2. Paris, France
Cliché or not, you will be hard pressed to find someone who hasn't been or planned to go to the City of Light. The food coma alone is worth it.
1. Berlin, Germany
While you may have expected a beachside destination for our number one, there is no city in the world quite like Berlin - so we couldn't look past it. Take in street art and a revolutionary food scene during the day before starting your night on the town. Berlin at night MUST be experienced. Start at one of the unique speakeasy's for drinks before heading out at midnight (at the earliest!) Leave the rest for stories to tell your mates back home - if they believe you.
