Meet this year’s Pretty Shady ambassadors!
MTV has teamed up with our mates over at Pretty Shady to celebrate all things summer! To kick things off, we met this year’s ambassadors, Isabelle Cornish, Mitch Revs, Robbie Maddison and Veronica Manock, who are on a mission to help the fight against skin cancer in Australia.
As an actor, model, fashion icon and healthy living guru, Isabelle Cornish is one of Australia’s brightest young stars.
As the star of Aussie drama Puberty Blues and a regular on the beloved Home & Away, Cornish is an inspiration to young girls all over the world. The trendy young actress knows that protecting your skin does not mean sacrificing your style. Wearing a hat and a fab pair of shades when she’s outdoors means Isabelle is always picture ready with flawless and youthful skin.
“I feel really passionate about the Pretty Shady campaign. Through film and modelling, I have a great following and it’s nice that I can help inspire young Aussies to be proactive about sun protection. I’m stoked to be part of such a cool campaign.”
Newcastle native Mitch is a surf and skate graphic artist who spends his time bringing a little more colour up and down the coast while working on creative murals and repping the surf culture.
While he may spend most of his time outdoors, he’s still vigilant about doing what he can to protect his skin.
“I’m really lucky that every day I get to inspire people with my work. It’s really cool that with Pretty Shady I have the opportunity to show people the importance of skin protection. Pretty Shady is about taking a stand and making noise about something so important – preventing skin cancer! Let’s start the revolution, protect yourself.”
Known as one of the most fearless and admired FMX riders in the world, Robbie has an impressive career behind him.
He’s held world records for longest distance jumped on a motorcycle, casually back flipped over the opened Tower Bridge in London and has a swath of X Games medals and X Fighters trophies to his name.
Robbie knows how to bend the laws of physics, but also how to take care of his skin so he can continue living the dream.
“The message of sun safety doesn’t have to be boring. That’s why Pretty Shady is a cool brand with a really serious message. I want to still be pushing the boundaries of physics and riding decades from now, so I’m going to protect myself and make sure all the others out there do too!”
Veronica Manock is a cancer survivor. At only 20 years old, she was diagnosed with melanoma after she discovered “just another mole” on her leg.
Growing up in Tasmania and later as a teenager in the country town of Bathurst, she now campaigns nationwide to raise awareness of the importance of sun protection no matter where you live or what you look like. Veronica knows from experience you can’t be too careful when it comes to protecting your skin and she wants to prevent others from going through what she went through.
“Having been diagnosed with melanoma I personally know what you can go through if you take risks. One day without sunscreen might not seem a big risk, but it all adds up. I wanted to work with Pretty Shady to spread the message that it’s important to start protecting your skin as early as possible.”
