QOTSA Album Revealed?
Could 'Ultraviolet Robot' be the title of the next Queens of the Stone Age album?
It’s been over four years since QOTSA released 'Era Vulgaris', so when the band's powerhouse drummer Joey Castill was asked about the new album by a German magazine, fans leapt on his response.
“I’m not supposed to answer, but the ‘Ultraviolet Robot’ will blow your minds” said Castill, according to musicfeeds.com.au.
Although the title has yet to be confirmed by the band, one thing is for sure - the boys haven’t been sitting around painting their nails during the gap between albums.
Frontman Josh Homme notably formed Them Crooked Vultures with sometime QOTSA guest drummer Dave Grohl and Led Zeppelin alumni John Paul Jones, produced an album for the Arctic Monkeys and launched a lawsuit against his fellow Kyuss band members. Meanwhile Joey has been playing with the Eagles of Death Metal, and bassist Dean Fertita has been playing with Jack White in the Dead Weather.
While Queens of the Stone Age were last in Australia for Soundwave 2011, news of an impending album could hopefully mean another tour heads our way in the summer.
