Queens Of The Stone Age Working On New Material!
It’s been over four years since Queens Of The Stone Age released their last album ‘Era Vulgaris,’ but now they’re teasing fans by revealing that they’ve started working on some new tracks!
Taking to Facebook, the rockers posted a status update which simply read “Recording.”
They quickly followed that up with a photo of a guitar in a studio with the caption “told ya.”
The news has excited fans, who have been waiting for years for their as-yet-untitled sixth studio album to hit the shelves.
At the beginning of last year, frontman Josh Homme explained to the BBC’s Zane Lowe that they were taking their time because they didn’t want to feel pressured.
“It’s been so long since I’ve been able to just enjoy playing without any sort of modicum of pressure, and I like to take it back to that,” he admitted.
“I think the key, really, is to sort of be in love. For me, it’s all about the love. I need to be in love with the music, and sometimes you need to take some time away to appreciate what it is.”
It's been a busy couple of years for the boys, who have been working on separate ventures.
Josh formed Them Crooked Vultures with QOTSA guest drummer Dave Grohl and John Paul Jones and also produced an album for UK band Arctic Monkeys, while drummer Joey Castillo has been jamming with Eagles of Death Metal and bassist Dean Fertita has been performing with the Dead Weather.
