Reece Mastin on what he loves about Australia!
Reece Mastin may have been born on the other side of the world, but that doesn’t stop him having bucket-loads of Aussie pride!
In a recent video posted by the Daily Telegraph, the ‘Shut Up and Kiss Me’ singer spoke fondly of his adopted country and dished on what Australia Day meant to him this year.
“I moved here when I was quite young and compared to where I came from Australia's so welcoming and people here are great,” dished the British-born star.
“So I think it's just somewhere so chilled out and I've made my life here so Australia Day is [about] remembering where I came from and what I'm doing now.”
But while Reece is filled with love for his country, it looks like his Canadian-born girlfriend Rhiannon Fish may be seeking greener pastures in LA!
“I am coming close to the end of my contract with ‘Home and Away’ so it's in discussion if I want to stay or go although, I am very, very happy to stay,” the star told the Sydney Morning Herald recently.
“I want to stay but I also don't want to look back and say what could have been. I want to see what is out there.”
The actress hopes that her Canadian heritage and acting work on both ‘Home and Away’ and ‘Neighbours’ will be an advantage in Hollywood.
“I hope going over there and meeting a casting director and saying I've been on ‘Home and Away’ that they'll think, 'this is something to look at'. It's certainly not a bad thing,” she explained.
“Obviously being Canadian it's easier to get a working visa over there, I believe, and it's something I am going to suss out now. Having a Canadian accent will make it easier to learn the American one when I get there.”
Wonder what this will mean for the happy couple?
