2012 MTV EMA Nominees Announced!

Rihanna, Taylor Swift, Justin Bieber, Gotye And More…

We’ve just got over the excitement of the ‘2012 MTV Video Music Awards’ – but now, get ready for even more action from the biggest names in music, as the ‘2012 MTV EMA’ nominees have just been announced!

Reigning pop princesses Rihanna and Taylor Swift top the list with six and five nods each respectively. Teen heartthrob Justin Bieber and bubbly songstress Katy Perry each scored four EMA nominations, while a slew of buzzworthy acts including ‘Mother Monster’ herself Lady Gaga, Nicki Minaj, Lana Del Rey and newcomers Carly Rae Jepsen and fun. earned three nominations each.

A stack of other artists are up for awards including Jay-Z and Kanye West, Green Day, Australia’s own Gotye, Pitbull, Rita Ora, Flo Rida, Muse, Arctic Monkeys, Jack White and Brit sensations One Direction! Categories include ’Best Male,’ ‘Best Female,’ ‘Best Song,’ ‘Best Video,’ two new categories ‘Best Look’ and ‘Best Electronic’ and a whole lot more!

Plus, the ‘Worldwide Act’ category is back for another year! Celebrating the range and breadth of all the talent MTV has to offer, the ‘Worldwide Act’ category showcases incredible artists from all parts of the world – including Australia and New Zealand!

For the first round of voting, 360, Gin Wigmore, Gotye, Kimbra and Temper Trap are in the running to represent Australia and New Zealand. From today, you can vote for your favourite artist, with the winner going on to battle it out for the Asia/Pacific title. Whoever takes out the Asia/Pacific title will go on to compete against acts from all over the globe for the ‘Worldwide Act’ award – so support your favourite artist and get voting now!

The 19th annual 'MTV EMA' will premiere on Monday, November 12 from Frankfurt’s historic Festhalle. You can vote in every category, so head to www.mtvema.com to have your say!
