Here Are All The Juicy Deets About The New ~Dark~ ‘Sabrina The Teenage Witch’ Series
ICYMI (or have been living under a rock), your fave teen show from the ‘90s Sabrina The Teenage Witch is getting a spooky reboot, and it doesn’t sound like it’s for the faint hearted.
The Hollywood Reporter has announced that the new series, based on the graphic novel the Chilling Adventures of Sabrina has been picked up by Netflix and will be produced by Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa (AKA the guy behind Riverdale).
If Riverdale is anything to go by, you’ll know that this new reincarnation of Sabrina will be much ~darker~ than Melissa Joan Hart’s PG13 portrayal of the teen witch.
The Hollywood Reporter noted that the series is a “dark coming-of-age tale that traffics in horror, the occult and witchcraft” and is in the same vein as “Rosemary’s Baby and The Exorcist.”
The plotline will also be a more intense reimagining of Sabrina’s story, with the series focusing on how Sabrina is “wrestling to reconcile her dual nature as a half-witch, half-mortal while fighting the evil forces that threaten her, her family and the daylight world humans inhabit.”
If this new series is anything like Riverdale, you bet that we’ll be tuning in weekly on Netflix.
