Ruby Rose Deletes Her Twitter After Copping Major 'Batwoman' Backlash
ICYMI, Aussie actress Ruby Rose made headlines last week when it was announced she has been cast in the CW's new Batwoman series as masked vigilante Kate Kane - the first gay superhero to lead a TV series.
Ruby took to Instagram to call the role a "childhood dream," adding, "This is something I would have died to have seen on TV when I was a young member of the LGBT community who never felt represented on TV and felt alone and different."
Sadly, the announcement didn't go down well with some members of the LGBTQI community who don't think the breakthrough lesbian role should have gone to Ruby, who has previously described herself as "gender-fluid."
Following the criticism, Ruby deleted her Twitter account, but not before telling fans she wished "we would all support each other and our journeys."
Everyone seems to live with the fact that Ruby Rose quit twitter because of the bullying,so now I'm here to say that this isn't the case.Ruby herself said that she's quitting twitter to focus on 2 of her projects. pic.twitter.com/Y4X57dnZbu

"Ok tied up some loose ends, read a tweet from my idol, and am deleting Twitter now to focus on my next two projects, so I won't be on here for a while...but can I clear up one last thing that has had me laughing but also baffled?" she tweeted.
"Where on earth did "Ruby is not a lesbian therefore she can't be batwoman" come from - has to be the funniest most ridiculous thing I've ever read. I cam out at 12? And have for the past 5 years had to deal with "she's too gay" how do y'all flip it like that? I didn't change," Ruby added.
Ruby has kept her Instagram alive, but by the looks of it, she's limiting her interaction with fans.
Batwoman is set to debut this December.
