It’s been less than a week and already ‘The Voice Australia’ winner Karise Eden is making music history!
The songstress has topped the ARIA chart this week with her hit single ‘Stay With Me Baby,’ at number one, followed by her cover version of ‘Hallelujah’ and in third place is the 19-year-old's own song ‘I Was Your Girl.’
According to the Herald Sun, it’s the first time an artist has dominated the top three places on the ARIA charts since The Beatles in 1964, who had six songs at the top.
"I'm blown away to hear about the ARIA chart. To have my first No.1 is amazing enough. So thankful to everyone that has bought the songs and to everyone on the show for making The Voice such a big success," she told the Sunday Telegraph.
But she’s not just hogging the top three spaces! Karise, dubbed Australia’s new “Queen of Soul” by her mentor Seal, also has the fifth position with her track ‘You Won’t Let Me,’ plus another four songs in the ARIA top 40!
Meanwhile, her fellow ‘Voice Australia’ finalists are also dominating the charts. Sarah De Bono’s track ‘Beautiful’ is at number four, Darren Percival’s original song ‘Damage Down’ is in eighth position and Rachael Leahcar’s cover of Nat King Cole’s ‘Smile’ is in at number 34.
Don’t miss Karise’s album ‘My Journey,’ which hits shelves tomorrow! (June 26)
