Just a day after Shane Dawson released a lengthy 20-minute apology video for past racist behaviour, which included him in blackface and using the ’n’ word in previous videos, more alarming content from the YouTuber has resurfaced – this time relating to the sexualisation of children.

An old clip of the YouTuber, who has more than 20 million subscribers on the platform, was re-uploaded onto Twitter yesterday by various users. It seemed to show the YouTuber pretending to masturbate to a poster of a then 11-year-old Willow Smith. See below.

This alarming content was brought to the attention of Willow Smith’s family, and soon after both Jaden Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith addressed the disturbing footage.

“SHANE DAWSON I AM DISGUSTED BY YOU. YOU SEXUALIZING AN 11 YEAR OLD GIRL WHO HAPPENS TO BE MY SISTER!!!!!!  IS THE FURTHEST THING FROM FUNNY AND NOT OKAY IN THE SLIGHTEST BIT,” Jaden wrote on Twitter.

Jada Pinkett Smith also posted her own terse response on Twitter.

Shane Dawson did not address his behaviour involving the clip of Willow Smith in his initial apology, and hasn't spoken out since the criticism from the Smith family was released, either.

Shane's teary 20-minute apology – which many read as pre-emptive attempt to get out ahead of the curve and address his wrongdoings publicly before anyone else could – doesn't seem to be working out very well for the YouTuber. We'll bring you more on this story as it develops.
