They may be ‘Drop Dead Gorgeous’ – but sadly Short Stack are no more.
Just days after fellow Aussie rockers Jet announced their split, our beloved boys from Bugewoi have followed suit and called it a day too.
“As you may or may not know, Short Stack has decided to call it a day" the band wrote on their official Facebook page this morning.
"Thank you so much for your support over the years, we really cannot express how much it means that you have let our music be a part of your lives and we thank you from the bottom of our hearts.”
Frontman Shaun Diviney also posted his own message via his personal Facebook page.
“For me, since the band started when I was 15, it's always been about the music I wrote and how it effected people.
"The greatest feeling was you singing my words back at a show, living with the albums and letting something I created be a part of your lives."
And while Stackheads across the country are mourning the news - the singer insists he and fellow members Andy Clemmensen and Bradie Webb are still on good terms.
“These times will be some of the best of my life with the boys/the crew,” he added. “We still remain the closest friends.”
The popular trio, who formed back in 2005, have stormed the charts over the past eight years with two smash hit albums, including their debut release ‘Stack Is The New Black’ and 2010’s ‘This Is Bat Country.’
And Shaun insists that despite parting ways with his bandmates, fans will still see more of him in the future…
“I am starting working on my next project, which is honestly the best thing I have ever done,” he said.
“I’m falling in love with music all over again, feeling a fire I haven’t in years.”
Best of luck boys!
