Tune in to MTV Friday (November 6) @ 5pm for the 2009 EMAs - The countdown has begun to one of Europe’s biggest and most prestigious live music events. The 16th Annual 2009 Europe Music Awards will take place at the O2 Arena and in front of the Brandenburg Gate in Berlin on Thursday 5th November 2009. This year’s awards will be part of a week-long celebration for the twentieth anniversary of the fall of the Berlin wall. This is the fourth time that the Awards will be held in Germany as it returns to the original city where it was launched in 1994. The O2 Arena is a state-of-the-art, 17,000 seat, multi-purpose venue and is one of the most modern multifunction arenas in the world.

The MTV EMA”s features phenomenal live performances, astronomical presenters, and the winners are chosen by the people who really matter...YOU! The most successful names in rock and pop will descend on the city as it celebrates artist in the following catagories: Best Song, Best Live Act, Best Group, Best New Act, Best Female Artist, Best Male Artist, Best Urban Act, Best Rock Act, Best Alternative Act, as well as regional Awards for artist across Europe. In 2008 the Awards were broadcast in over 40 countries, was hosted by Katy Perry, and featured performances by artists including Beyoncé, P!nk, The Killers, Estelle, Kanye West and Kid Rock.
