Mel B Will Strip For Women
Mel B must be desperate to get her clothes off in any way possible. You can just see her at the dress rehearsals to the recent Spice Girls concert...can't it be zigah zigah boom... boom ?
But now that all that's over, and given how trendy it is to strip off for some cause, any cause (PETA? Dior?...), Scary Spice is doing something that's not even scary, but terrifying. She's stripping off for the little-known Helen Bamber Foundation Against Sex Trafficking.
Mel B justified the advertising campaign by saying that she was doing so to draw attention to the notion that women have beautiful bodies and it's important to help them. This makes about as much sense as an anti-speeding campaign showing sexy people driving really, really fast European cars.
Because women might have beautiful bodies, but that's kind of irrelevant when you're talking about a person who is being held against their will to have sex. It seems a bit bizarre that a sex trafficker would see a picture of Mel B and think "well that turns me on. Forget the girl I've got tied up out the back ... after Mel B got her gear off, I really understand this woman's a person too."
But of course, this all comes down to publicity, and not really sex trafficking at all. After all, Mel B's already been quoted making a stand, not against sex trafficking, but presumably against exercise, proferring the deep observation that "I'm curvier now I've had kids but I like the way I look. Women's bodies are beautiful and any charity helping women is important."
So put it down to Mel B to tell gals what's important. And just insert "any charity helping women" here.
That knitting club needs some new recruits...
