High Fashion Vag Wigs Are Now A Thing, Thanks To NYFW 2018
It's 2018 and fake pubes are about to be all the rage. We're calling it RN. The Evidence? All you need to do is hazard a casual glance at the runways of New York Fasion Week, where vajayay wigs have stolen the show.
Yes friends, the humble merkin is back in a big way thanks to designer Alexander Wang, who sent a bunch of models down the catwalk flaunting faux fanny fluff as part of his new cyber-punk collection, Kaimin.
The merkin has a proud history dating all the way back to the 15th Century, where it was less of a fashion accessory than it was, shall we say, a logistical tool for professional hookers.
According to Wikipedia. sex workers would use vag wigs as protection against pubic lice or to disguise symptoms of other sexually transmitted diseases like syphilis.
However, according to a press statement, Wang has now revived the old school beaver pelts to “assist irregular silhouettes and to bridge the gap of hard versus soft“ (probably still useful against crabs though)
We look forward to seeing how fashionistas institute 2018's surefire must-have accessory during this year's festival season... envisioning lots of feathers and glitter, folks.
