Sum 41 Hospital Drama
star Deryck Whibley
has been hospitalised in Sydney after suffering from “severe pneumonia.”
The band, who were due to perform several shows Down Under, have postponed their gigs while the frontman recovers.
A statement on the rockers’ official website reads, "We regret to inform everyone that we have had to cancel a few shows due to Deryck Whibley being hospitalised with severe pneumonia. Deryck is currently being treated in a Sydney hospital. Doctors are doing their best to beat the pneumonia and Deryck will remain in Sydney until he has recovered.
"As soon as Deryck is out of the hospital the band will return back to the stage performing their 'Screaming Bloody Murder' world tour with the usual high energy kick ass shows."
Since then, dozens of fans have taken to the group’s site to leave well-wishes for the singer.
One wrote, “Get better soon man iv been listening to you guys sence I was like 6 you guys are the best band in the world.”
And another added, “Yo D! Hope you get better soon! When I found the news, my jaw sorta dropped.” (sic)
