The Perfect Date Night Spots For Summer Lovin'
Summer's here and it's time to up your date night game.
If you're in Sydney, make sure you check out some of these next time you want to impress your date (or reel them in).
1. sydney hills outdoor cinema
Don’t take bae to a mediocre movie in an overcrowded theatre where your younger brother and his mates could potentially be in the back row. Take advantage of the balmy weather and hit up the Sydney Hills Outdoor Cinema on your next date night instead.
The open air cinema will be screening 31 movies over the summer, with plenty of deckchairs and bean bags to kick back on. As well as this, there will be MTV resident DJs, a licensed bar and Gelato Messina choc-tops available. What’s not to love?
2. lunacy at luna park
Nothing removes first date jitters better than being pinned against a wall by gravity and spinning into oblivion on the Rotar. Don’t believe us? Grab a couple of tickets to Lunacy at Luna Park after 6pm on Friday and Saturday nights and experience all the fun and colour of Sydney’s beloved theme park for yourself. Watch bae run along the Turkey Trot and feel yourself melt inside. Accidently entangle your fluffy sticks of fairy floss and bashfully pull them apart. Pretend to ditch your date in the mirrored maze for laughs. Luna Park goes hand in hand with summer lovin’.
3. cocktails at li'l darlin
For those of you who like a cheeky dash of Dutch courage on a date, head over to Li’l Darlin in Darlinghurst, Randwick or Surry Hills for some of the best cocktails in Sydney. Their signature martinis are garnished with floating passionfruits, wisps of fairy floss, sprigs of fresh mint and generous dustings of sprinkles and the venue does some pretty tasty dishes too. Order a share platter for your very own Lady And The Tramp noodle moment.
4. hisshou teppanyakiWatch bae get eggs and rice thrown at their face and fall in love. Perfect for a classic dinner date with a twist, the talented chefs at Hisshou Teppanyaki in Sydney’s Chinatown really know how to play with their food. Watch your meal get sliced and diced before your very eyes with plenty of rapid knife work and fire. Just don’t sit too close, you don’t want to singe those brows on fleek.
5. sydney aquarium
For an early evening date night spot, head to Sydney Aquarium in Darling Harbour and lose yourselves surrounded by sharks, fish, pretty coral things and penguins. Your date will feel #blessed that the two of you haven’t gone to a pub trivia night like you initially suggested. The aquarium is open until 7pm every night, so if it goes well you can head to one of the many bars or restaurants around the harbour afterwards.
6. sweethearts rooftop bbq
Treat your date to some cider slushies and sticky ribs at Sweetheart’s Rooftop BBQ in Potts Point and watch the sun go down on a summer night. The venue radiates good vibes and has an awesome outdoor area filled with plenty of palm trees, lanterns and cool artwork on the walls. There’s a pretty epic view from up on the rooftop as well and the place gets bonus points for its sangria nights. From where you'd rather be, right?
With these date night ideas now up you're sleeve, there's no excuse not to hit the town with your date and enjoy your own summer of love.
