Taika Waititi Reveals The Hilarious Reason Why He Made Thor
Taika Waititi's Thor: Ragnarok was one of the biggest films in 2017, the flick has now grossed over $852 million at the Box Office. Cha-Ching.
But if you thought it was the money that inspired Taika to join the franchise, you'd be wrong.
Turns out the kiwi star had a pretty hilarious (and relatable) reason for directing the film... Yep, all he wanted was to earn the approval of his parents.
Oh, and he also wanted more Twitter followers.

Taika also talked a bit about his vision for Ragnarok...
“What I really wanted to do with Thor was capture the essence of Peter Pan, with a little of Terminator 2, a dash of Independence Day, a smidgen of On Golden Pond, with the kind of tone of Beaches, mixed in with My Fair Lady. So I think we’ve achieved that.”
