This morning Taylor Swift debut the video for her brand new single ‘We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together’ on MTV.com.au, and in an exclusive interview with ‘MTV First’ afterwards the country sweetheart revealed what it was all about!
“I wanted the video to look as quirky as the song sounds,” she told MTV’s Sway Calloway.
“The apartment is covered in knitting and there’s random woodland creatures popping up!”
In the clip, 22-year-old Swift repeatedly argues and makes up with her love interest, played by Noah Mills. The entire video takes place in one apartment where the scenery and atmosphere is constantly changing.
“The cool thing about the video is that we did it all in one take, one scene, with one camera. There’s no editing, all the costume changes and scenery changes you see are live,” she revealed.
But it wasn't as easy as it sounds, as Taylor says that it took a little while to get things right!
“We messed up 17 times before we got it right!”
And it seems that the songbird didn't have much time for costume changes either…
“All my clothes were put together with Velcro and snaps so that I could have three costumes on top of the other, and that’s how we did the costume changes,” she added.
“[I was] ripping clothes off, putting clothes on, not caring who saw what. All modesty had to go out the window.”
“It was frantic.”
