The Walking Dead's Danai Gurira Confirms Season 10 Will Be Her Last
It's been a wild ride for Danai Gurira's Michonne on The Walking Dead over the years but the actress has tearfully confirmed that when season 10 goes to air, it'll be the last time we'll see her on the show.
The 41-year-old announced her exit on the show's Comic-Con panel in San Diego while with her co-star's Norman Reedus, Chris Hardwick, Angela Kang, Jeffrey Dean Morgan and Cailey Fleming.

“I can confirm this is the last season I’ll be on this amazing TV show as Michonne,” said Gurira on the panel. “I would just like to say this has been one of the purest joys in my life. I am very very thankful for the experience I’ve had in ways that I cant even express right now.
My heart does not leave… it doesn’t ever end, the connection between us never ends. It was a very difficult decision. It was about my calling and other things I feel called to… as a creator of work. All I’m filled with is a lot of pain about leaving and a lot of gratitude and to all of you. I love you guys. TWD family is forever.” Her speech was met with a well-deserved standing ovation from the crowd.
Although a large chunk of her career was made famous by her appearance on the show, there's definitely no way of stopping Danai in her future endeavours. The actress recently featured in the Marvel Cinematic Universe as 'Okoye' in Black Panther and in Avengers: Infinity War and Endgame.
It's going to be really hard not watching Michonne slicing and dicing zombies with her katana but we know that decision was made with only good intentions.
